Referencing helps ensure the Tenancy is a good fit for everyone. It’s a standard part of the lettings process and gives Landlords peace of mind while helping you secure your new home with confidence.
What does the referencing process involve?
We use a secure, Industry Standard platform to carry out checks, which typically include:
- A credit check (no impact on your score)
- Employment and income verification
- A reference from your current or previous Landlord (where applicable)
- A Right to Rent check, as required by UK law
How long does it take?
Most references are completed within 24–72 hours, depending on how quickly your referees respond. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.
What documents will I need?
To get started, you’ll need:
- A valid photo ID (passport or driving licence)
- Proof of address (e.g. utility bill or bank statement)
- Proof of income (recent payslips or employment contract)
Is my information secure?

What if I have a poor credit history or am self-employed?
